We are not Gordon Ramsay, but we know you must master the pie crust first! Here’s a simple and easy recipe for how you can make the perfect crust every time and get the best fall deserts:

Fall’s Classic Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients:

➾   All-purpose flour- 2 and ½ cup

Cold Butter ( Cold is the key here)

➾   A dash of salt- 1 teaspoon

   Sugar- 1 tablespoon (optional)

Ice cold water (6-8 tablespoons or as needed)

Mixing Instructions:

For a flaky and light pie crust, you need to take a portion of the flour, add the cold butter, and knead together to get a crumbled structure! This little tip, before adding water, will make your crust super flaky every time!

After you have mixed the cold butter, salt, and sugar with flour in a mixer, you can knead the dough with water gradually or by hand. Work the dough enough to make a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for an hour!

Before using the dough, lightly flour the surface and use a rolling pin to flatten it out to about ⅛ inches thick.

Pro tip: Do not stretch the dough while adding it to the mold; use scissors to cut the edges. Let the dough sit in the pan and refrigerate it for at least 20 minutes before baking!
